Glycerine producers and suppliers in Poland: the physical source map
OxyLens has mapped the plants that make, refine or hold glycerine in Poland, starting from the official register of biocomponent producers and the certification schemes rather than from distributor listings. Each source is resolved to a legal entity and a site, with its grades, a dated sign that the plant runs, and the questions a buyer still has to ask.

What OxyLens has mapped in Polish glycerine
Registers and certificates read on 2026-09-23. The registered plants in the map hold 1,584.15 of the 1,609.15 million litres a year of registered FAME capacity. That is a share of registered capacity, not of output.
How the Polish glycerine market is structured
Crude glycerine is a coproduct of transesterification, so every FAME (biodiesel) plant makes it. The national register of biocomponent producers kept by KOWR has 20 entries; 8 of them are FAME plants. The others make bioethanol or hydrotreated fuels, which yield no glycerine. REACH does not help here: the number of Polish companies among the ECHA registrants of glycerol is 0.

The market is small and partly closed. Some producers use their glycerine themselves, some may route it inside their group, and one esterifies as a service for another owner. "Produces glycerine" and "sells glycerine" are therefore two separate facts for every plant.
What OxyLens verifies for each source
- Legal entity and group: KRS number, owner and name history, so a renamed or sold plant is not listed twice or under a former name.
- Facility: the registered plant, its address and its FAME capacity where the register states one.
- Physical role: biodiesel producer, refiner, oleochemical producer, captive user, trader with storage.
- Grade: crude, technical or refined, in the seller's own words, with the date of any published specification. A "technical 80 %" label is crude by glycerol content.
- Freshness: a current production certificate (KZR INiG, REDcert or ISCC) or other dated evidence that the plant runs. Older evidence is shown as older.
- Evidence and contact: a source link and quote per fact, and the published sales desk where there is one.
- First-call questions: guaranteed glycerol content per lot, open market or committed, and who owns the glycerine at a toll plant.

Coverage and limits
Strongest for registered and certified producers. The register covers every FAME plant licensed to supply the fuel market, and a sweep of 70 certificates (every Polish processing scope, and production scopes that lapsed within 24 months) reached the second tier. A refiner, upgrader or trader certified under no scheme is invisible.
Freshness varies. 2 of the sources in the map rest on older evidence for their glycerine unit and are marked as likely active, not active. An independent refiner is left out of the map, because nothing dates its line after 2022.
Specifications, volumes and prices are not public. Only one producer publishes a current guaranteed specification. Lot analysis, tonnage and price come from the call.
How the map was built
- Enumerate from the authoritative list: the KOWR register of biocomponent producers, checked against its published PDF.
- Read the KZR INiG, REDcert and ISCC certificate lists in full for production and processing scopes, and the GIW animal-by-product register for glycerine handlers.
- Resolve every candidate to a legal entity and a site through KRS and the VAT register.
- Date the relevant operation, not the company: a current production certificate or a recent dated statement.
- Record grades and specifications as published, and turn every unknown into a first-call question.
In Polish offers crude glycerine appears as gliceryna surowa or faza glicerynowa, refined grades as gliceryna destylowana or farmaceutyczna.
