What OxyLens has mapped in Polish category 3 fat

Register and certificate data read on 2026-09-21. A supply pool is one commercial door: two plants of the same company, or a plant and its group's sales desk, count once.

How the Polish category 3 fat market is structured

Every plant that processes animal by-products in Poland must be approved or registered by the veterinary inspection (GIW) and appears in its public register with a veterinary number, the categories it handles and its product types. Of the 2,448 rows OxyLens read from the seven register sections that can hold a fat source, 319 are category 3 registrations connected with fat. They are not all suppliers:

The remaining rows are buyers of fat, fishmeal plants and other operators that are not sources. So most of the category 3 fat register is paper. The useful list is the plants, grouped into supply pools, and the handful of traders that actually hold stock.

What OxyLens verifies for each source

• Legal entity and group: the company behind the veterinary number, with its KRS number and owner, so two doors to the same seller are not called twice.
• Facility: each registered plant, its veterinary number, town and region, and whether a category 1 or 2 line runs on the same site.
• Physical role: renderer or processor with a fat output, trader with stock, or broker.
• Certification: whether the plant holds its own ISCC certificate that covers category 3 material, until when, and whether it lapsed recently.
• Evidence: every fact rests on a source link and a quote in the research record, and is marked as fact or inference.
• Contact: the published sales desk or plant line, with its limits stated.
• What only a call can answer: the open questions per source, such as a guaranteed FFA maximum, species mix, bulk loading and whether technical fat is sold at all.
• Route fit: when a buyer brings a specification (for example an FFA maximum, and whether the route needs ISCC), each pool is screened against it and the pools one answer away from a fit are named.

A plant without its own certificate is not a dead end for an ISCC route: under ISCC EU a point of origin can supply a certified collecting point on a self-declaration. The useful question is "your own certificate, or which collecting point?"

How the map was built

1. Enumerate from the authoritative list: the GIW animal-by-product register, every section that can hold a fat producer, store, collector or broker.
2. Resolve each registration to a legal entity and a site, then collapse plants of the same company or group into one supply pool.
3. Date the activity: current ISCC certificates, recent company statements.
4. Qualify what public data shows (category, species, product type, certificate, contact) and write down what it does not.
5. Turn every unknown into a first-call question.

In Polish documents and offers the material appears as tłuszcz zwierzęcy kat. 3 or tłuszcz techniczny; the register calls the output fat for oleochemical use, for feed or for other uses.
