Questions for the first call
A certificate and a sale statement tell you who to call. These are the questions that decide whether a lot from Germany works for you.
Used cooking oil
- Is the oil sold to third parties at all, or used or passed on inside the seller's group?
- Which site would load the lot, how often, and in what lot size: IBC, tanker or bulk?
- Free fatty acids, moisture, impurities and sulphur: what does a typical lot test at, and who tests it?
- Is the lot recorded in the Union Database, and which scheme certificate covers the site that loads it?
- Does it leave the country as waste with shipment documents, or with end-of-waste status?
Crude glycerine
- Crude or refined: what glycerol, MONG, water, ash and methanol content does a typical lot have?
- Is the glycerine sold to third parties, or used inside the group?
- Which plant loads the lot, how often and in what lot size?
- Which scheme certificate covers the producing plant?
Category 1/2 animal fat
- Which category is each fat stream: Category 1, Category 2 or a mix?
- How much of the fat is burned in the plant's own boilers, and how much is sold?
- Free fatty acids, moisture, impurities and sulphur: what does a typical lot test at?
- Which plant loads the lot, in what lot size, and under which scheme certificate?
- What documents travel with a lot across a border?
Category 3 animal fat
- Which category is each fat stream, and is any of it sold for feed or pet food first?
- Free fatty acids, moisture, impurities and polyethylene: what does a typical lot test at?
- Which plant loads the lot, and in what lot size?
- Which scheme certificate covers that plant, and is the fat recorded in the Union Database?
- Is any of the fat burned in the plant's own boilers, and how much is left to sell?
How it counts in Germany
- Used cooking oil, Germany: In Germany, biofuels from used cooking oil count toward the GHG quota up to a cap shared with Category 1/2 animal fat and the other Anlage 4 feedstocks: 1.9% of energy from 2022, 2% from 2031, rising to 2.8% from 2039. Above the cap, the fossil base value applies. Source: 38. BImSchV, § 13a and Anlage 4 No. 1 (as amended by BGBl. 2026 I Nr. 163, whose Art. 3 No. 20 added Anlage 4 Nos. 3 to 6), read .
- Crude glycerine, Germany: In Germany, crude glycerine is a feedstock for advanced biofuels (Anlage 1). Fuel made from it counts toward the advanced minimum share: 2% of energy in 2026, 3% from 2027, rising to 9% from 2040. Since June 2026 an amount above that share can only be carried to the next year; it no longer counts double, except for fuel placed on the market before 2026. From 2027 it counts toward the share only where the authorities may accompany the certifier's on-site checks. Source: 38. - Category 1/2 animal fat, Germany: In Germany, biofuels from Category 1 and 2 animal fats share one cap toward the GHG quota with used cooking oil and the other Anlage 4 feedstocks: 1.9% of energy from 2022, 2% from 2031, rising to 2.8% from 2039. Above the cap, the fossil base value applies. Source: 38. BImSchV, § 13a and Anlage 4 No. 2 (as amended by BGBl. 2026 I Nr. 163, whose Art. 3 No. 20 added Anlage 4 Nos. 3 to 6), read .

How to read this map
Reviewed source. A seller, or a group selling from several sites, with a physical role in Germany: collection, storage, pretreatment or production. OxyLens researched it from public and official records before counting it.
Reviewed sale statement. The seller's own website says it sells the material, and OxyLens has read and dated that page. Without one, the sale is confirmed on the first call.
Weekly certificate recheck. Where a source holds a scheme certificate, OxyLens reads the issuer list every week, so a certificate that ends or is withdrawn shows on the next check. The supplier certificate check shows what a check reads.
Not counted. OxyLens researches every certificate holder found in the issuer lists. Buyers only, offices and other paper-only roles with no physical site, and lapsed holders are kept out of the counts, and so are holders with neither a published contact nor an official record of their site. The app lists every holder it did not count, with the reason.
1 of the 89 counted sources in Germany has no contact route recorded yet: OxyLens has not found a published email, phone or contact form for it. It is counted because an official record, such as a waste register entry or a permit, shows the site and gives its postal address.
Used cooking oil buyers in Germany
Selling fryer oil from a restaurant or a small kitchen? A licensed local collector picks it up, often for free or for a small payment. OxyLens does not collect oil.

Coverage and limits
Certified and documented sellers are mapped; the rest are not. A collector or renderer with no scheme certificate and no public evidence of selling is not on the map.
A certificate is not an offer. Lot size, quality, price and willingness to sell to you are confirmed on the call.
